Something that I have been saying for year now is that all the world’s a paparazzi! And we all know that. Everywhere you go, you are filmed. Nothing is really private anymore. Anyone can film you at any time. The reason for this post, is because of a conversation at work.

We were talking about people having conversation filming people unbeknownst to them. Now, obviously, this is illegal. But, there are so many people who will do this. And it is really sad. You may be sharing some sensitive and private info with someone. Example: Let’s say that you are confiding in someone about your relationship. You might be considering ending your relationship, for whatever reason. You might be talking about your significant other and you might be saying that they are not attentive anymore. You feel unseen, unheard, etc. All you are doing is venting. You might not mean for this conversation to make it back to anyone you know. Then, let’s say a week later, someone you know might come back to you, “I heard you and man/woman are having problems. I understand where you are coming from. Let me tell you what I would do, if I were you!”

You are just standing there, stunned! You don’t understand how they know what you are going through. And then, you are asking yourself, Why are they basically repeating everything that I have been saying and I have never talked to them about this? Then, you might ask them, Where did you hear this from? Then, they might say the name of the person that you were talking to. But it still stands out, the precision with which the person is saying what you said! Now, you have to consider, Did that person record me? It sounds sick, but you can’t put anything past people.

Especially in this era. Where everyone has a camera phone. Anything that someone does wrong, the local news will have live footage about it. Now, don’t get me wrong. Sometimes, someone filming something going on, in real time, can be a good thing. Because it can reveal truths, to stop the lies. But there are other things that are filmed what shouldn’t be. Even on call with companies, they will have that recording saying, “This call might be monitored for training purposes.” You are given a heads up that you are being recorded. But everyone won’t do that.

We live in a weird place and time. I understand why if celebrities post pictures of themselves of themselves and their children, they will put something over their faces in the picture. To maintain privacy and safety. It’s sad that has to be done, but that it is how it is.
