Content Creator Series: Growing in Digital Spaces

One of the best things about becoming a content creator is that you are learning something new every day. Whether it is discovering the type of content you want to create, growing in social media, or finding your voice in this big landscape. There is so much knowledge out there to absorb. And it is important that you gravitate to towards the right people and right information.

In this era, information is not in short supply. But good, helpful and encouraging information is. And that can be very frustrating. Especially when you are starting something new. When I started considering becoming a content creator, I instantly started researching. My first resource was Youtube. I typed in Content creator and the flood gates opened. Countless content creators from Canada, London, the US and beyond. All with their own style, stories and successes. Each one strong in their delivery and each one willing to share their experiences. And they didn’t have to do that. They could all gatekeep. They don’t owe us anything. But instead, they want to share the table at which they sit, with us.

You will look at all of the other creators, and you can’t help but think, “I want to be where they are someday.” Here’s the thing: each content creator you watch and follow, whether it’s on Youtube to Instagram, their stories were all different. Every single one remembers what it was like to struggle, to put more money into it than they were getting out of it. They know what it’s like to create content that they were confident in and it just didn’t perform well. People didn’t seem to connect. Some quit. But the ones we follow, clearly didn’t. They kept going. Even in the difficult times. When there were no follows and no clicks. They kept writing and they wouldn’t quit. And that serves as a great inspiration for me. No one starts at the finish line.

So, I wanted to introduce you to the Content Creator Series. This is where I will be sharing information that I will obtain as I continue to grow as a content creator. This will be a safe space, where we can grow and learn together. No matter whether you are brand new or you have been a content creator for a long time and you are having trouble connecting. It is my hope that something you will read here will help, encourage and educate you. Also, I hope to have interviews here someday, with fellow content creators and ask them to share their experiences and advice. It is my hope that you will enjoy this series and that you will learn and grow with me.
