One thing that most content creators have in common, is that they all say, there’s no perfect time to get started. Just go for it. Whether it be a post on social media, a video on Youtube, or that next blog post. If you get an idea, go for it. It’s not going to be a perfect post. Don’t worry about perfection. And that was one of the things that kept me from starting my blog.

I had quite a few concerns about it. I started looking at blogs and I was reading content. Looking at the websites and thinking about what I wanted my blog to be about. What I wanted it to look like, what I wanted to say, etc. Back in 2013, the start-up process was simple. And it still is. But there are so many more facets to it now, than there was before. Social media wasn’t as big of a thing. It most definitely wasn’t as a big of a business as it is now. And of course, AI hadn’t been invented yet. And I am not sure if many people thought that blogging would almost become obsolete. Now, it’s not to say that people don’t read blogs. Obviously, that’s not true. But now, vlogging is far more popular. Even though, you can link your blog and/or website to your channel.

But waiting for that ideal time, you’ll be waiting forever. You can’t just sit there. But if you are going to sit there, start writing. That’s what I did. I started writing in a binder. Just start. It could be at your desk, your kitchen table, you could start on your tablet or phone. Just start writing. Then, you can create that blog. And if the muse strikes and you get inspired to write, by the time you create your blog, you will have a lot of content. You will have content for days and weeks at a time.

There’s nothing holding you back except nerves. Being nervous about if people will be receptive to your point of view and your voice. Worried about starting that blog, that YT channel, that podcast. But the thing is, we are in charge of this. When you are a content creator, it is all about you. What you want to post and how. What you want to create, which social media outlets you choose for engagement, everything is entirely up to you.

Content creation is an art form. A creative way to express yourself and build something unique just like you. It can be intimidating. Trying to figure everything out, finding your niche, developing your brand. I know how you feel. But we have to stay consistent. Share with the world the work you are passionate about. Don’t worry about those that don’t get it. The right people will.
