As a writer, content creator or any creative will agree, you will run into one of the most dreaded experiences, writer’s block. The time where your mind is completely void of all thoughts and ideas. As I once read, “Writer’s block: when your imaginary friends won’t even talk to you.” And how true that is. When I started blogging over 13 years ago, of course neither ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini were invented. You had to be a lot more creative. There weren’t half as many resources available as there are now. And I was wondering about which ones would work best for me. After trying them all, this is what I have found out about them.
Claude – This one is kind of like Youtube for writing. This one is more for long-form writing. It’s like a friend talking to you. Just bouncing ideas off of each other and a thought comes into your mind. The topic options don’t feel as forced or manufactured. It feels more something you would come up with yourself. And it’s better for coding. It’s got three different pay stages: Free, Pro for $17 and Max which is $100. The free version offers everything that the others offer, it’s just that the Pro and Max versions offer more updates, with higher limits and more memory.
ChatGPT – while it’s used for creative writing, its often times used for voice interactions. It’s got a strong and clear sound for voice, although it’s a little slower for bigger responsibilities. This was the one that I used the most at first, then any of the others. I have used it sometimes for inspiration and then of, course if I had a question. If I was already on it, instead of switching to Google, I’d just ask ChatGPT. The only thing for me, is that you have to give it a lot of information in order for it to provide what you need. But it is a great app. Their basic monthly is $8.08, $97 yearly, Pro monthly is $16.42, $197 yearly and Pro Max monthly is $77.67, $932 yearly.

Gemini – Since it’s powered by Google, this is one of the most popular apps because it’s basically on everyone’s phone. You can have access to your email account and the documents with it. Really speedy and great to work with in real-time. I must say, I think that I love this one the best out of all of them. Not that I won’t use the others because they all have a good purpose as well. But, for example, when I asked Gemini for some innovative blog post topics, it did not let me down. In addition to post topics, it provided me with so many different styles of writing posts and things that I feel will make me a better writer. It is a very in-depth resource that I will recommend to anyone.
These options are obviously great tools for everyone to use. Each one provides a necessary use. It’s like you’re hiring assistants. All different, each one provides a different skill set, work ethics and each provides its own brand of intellect. And if you are good with that, you will keep them all employed. Although, the opinions of these tools will vary depending upon who you ask. Some people have said that they will only use ChatGPT. While others say, never again! And they will only use Claude. It’s all a matter of preference and taste. But as the creative, you have to find the right tools for you to make the art that you want to make.
Which do you prefer? ChatGPT, Claude AI or Gemini? Or are you more partial to Grok? The one that works with X? I am very curious to know what you all think.
