As I have gotten older, I have realized that when I am being carried to a new level, separation happens. It can be a relationship or friendship. But whenever I going to a new level, this happens. It is so uncomfortable. Because when you have people in your life that you care about and that you are used to being around, if are elevating to a new level, you want them to be there. You can imagine them being there, cheering you on and hopefully, being proud of you. But, when that’s not the case, you are disappointed. I am the type of friend that supports and encourages you. I like pouring good energy into my friends and building them up. I am an only child so having distance is not a shock. But when you have friends that you are distant from for no explainable reason, it’s a mental adjustment.
I have gone through this a few times. When I first experienced this, It was like driving and being lost. It was nerve wracking! I was like, what happened? I was seeing this guy at the time, and I had a friend of 8 years, both of them changed on me within 2 weeks of each other. First, I was honest with my friend and telling her to take time for herself to focus on her healing amid separating from her husband. Suddenly, she stopped being my friend. Then, I got dumped. All of this was happening while I was pursuing my national certification in pharmacy. So, I was hoping that they would be along for the ride with me, but that didn’t happen. Since then, I can feel it more now. Whenever I feel that uncomfortable feeling, I know more about what it means.

You don’t like it, but there is a reason why. In these moments, no matter how difficult it may be, you have to trust the process. Trust me, I have done my best to fight this, trying to call them, text them, trying to find out what’s wrong. But when this is going on, God is at work. There’s a reason why he is distancing you from people. It’s not because he wants you to be unhappy, but it’s because there could be energy around you that will hinder your growth. It’s because he has plans for you and those people won’t fit. But don’t worry! He will replace them with better ones. Trust me, it will work out.
